The Story Behind The Piece

First created in 1960, the Danish Bar Stool remains one of Australia’s most recognisable mid-century designs. With its sculpted timber backrest, angular frame, and hand-stitched seat, it’s a masterclass in proportion, restraint, and craftsmanship.

This is what timeless design looks like. The stool doesn’t chase trends it transcends them. Curved where it comforts. Angular where it holds. Just sculptural enough to make a statement without needing to shout.

Its silhouette sits just as confidently in a minimalist kitchen as it does in a heritage home or boutique hotel. That’s the strength of good design it adapts. It holds its place. It never dates.

Each stool is made to order in our Adelaide workshop, using sustainably sourced Australian timbers and premium Italian leathers. Every curve is hand-finished. Every joint aligned by eye. Every piece individually numbered and certified.

Every TH Brown piece is made to order with care in our Adelaide workshop. Because each item is built specifically for you, we’re unable to accept returns for change of mind.

If your piece arrives damaged or isn’t as described, we’ll make it right — simply contact us within 7 days of delivery.

We ship worldwide using trusted carriers including DHL, FedEx, and TeamGE. All deliveries are fully insured and trackable, so your order arrives safely and securely.

Are all TH Brown pieces made in Australia?

Yes. Every piece is designed and hand crafted and finished in Adelaide, South Australia. We work with skilled local craftman using ethically sourced timbers and premium materials.
What does made to order mean?

Our Stools, Dining chairs, and Trend Lounges are made to order are hand finished just for you with care and precision. Our coffee tables are produced in small batches to ensure consistent quality. All glass components are made locally in each state of Australia, supporting local makers and reducing transport impact.
How long will my order take?

Most orders take between 6–10 weeks from confirmation to delivery. Lead times can vary slightly depending on the piece and finish you choose. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.
What if something goes wrong with my order?

We stand by our craftsmanship. If something isn’t right, get in touch straight away—we’ll make it right.
Are TH Brown designs originals or replicas?

They’re reissues. These are authentic TH Brown designs from our archive, re-released and crafted to the same standard TH Brown is known for

Can I choose custom finishes or fabrics?

Yes. You can select from a curated range of timber stains and fine Italian leathers, fabrics. For trade or larger orders, we can explore custom finishes to suit your project. Please reach out we are always happy to help.
