The Story Behind The Piece

A striking expression of mid-century innovation where sculptural form meets everyday function. Originally designed in the 1960s by Peter Brown, the Rex Dining Chair was built for comfort, and made to be noticed.

Upholstered and engineered for support, it features an internal sprung seat and premium foam offering the kind of comfort more often found in lounge furniture.

Crafted in sustainably sourced light ash, its compact frame and clean lines give it presence without excess a refined silhouette that holds its own in any setting.

More than just a chair, Rex is a considered response to its time. Bold, ergonomic, enduring — and just as relevant today as when it first turned heads over half a century ago.

Still made in Adelaide. And like every TH Brown original, it’s individually numbered and certified — a piece of Australian design history, made to be lived with.

Are all TH Brown pieces made in Australia?

Yes. Every piece is designed and hand crafted and finished in Adelaide, South Australia. We work with skilled local craftman using ethically sourced timbers and premium materials.
What does made to order mean?

Our Stools, Dining chairs, and Trend Lounges are made to order are hand finished just for you with care and precision. Our coffee tables are produced in small batches to ensure consistent quality. All glass components are made locally in each state of Australia, supporting local makers and reducing transport impact.
How long will my order take?

Most orders take between 6–10 weeks from confirmation to delivery. Lead times can vary slightly depending on the piece and finish you choose. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.
What if something goes wrong with my order?

We stand by our craftsmanship. If something isn’t right, get in touch straight away—we’ll make it right.
Are TH Brown designs originals or replicas?

They’re reissues. These are authentic TH Brown designs from our archive, re-released and crafted to the same standard TH Brown is known for
