TH Brown Christmas Cut Off 2026

Made to Order: Why Good Things Take Time

|Toni Briggs-Brown

If you'd like your TH Brown piece home for Christmas, order by Friday 16 October 2026 for seating, Friday 13 November for our glass-top coffee tables, and Friday 4 December for the Cuban coffee table.

Those dates aren't arbitrary. It comes from the way we make furniture: to order, by hand, in Adelaide, the same way TH Brown has worked since 1911. Here's why we do it this way, and what it means for when your piece arrives.

What you're buying

A TH Brown piece is not pulled from a warehouse shelf. It is cut, shaped, stained and upholstered for you, by craftspeople who have spent their careers on it. Designs like the Danish Bar Stool and the Trend Module Lounge were drawn by Peter Brown, the founder's son, and they are still made in Adelaide today.

Every piece comes with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and our seating carries a 10-year structural warranty. You're buying a piece of Australian design history, made to last for decades, not seasons.

Why our seating is made to order

Every TH Brown chair, stool and lounge is made to order, so every piece in your set matches exactly.

Timber takes stain differently from one batch to the next. Fabric shifts subtly between dye lots. If we built ahead and stored stock, the bar stools you buy today might not quite match the two you add next year, or the lounge that arrives beside them.

Making your order together, in one run, means one stain mix and one bolt of fabric across every piece. Your four Rex Dining Chairs leave the workshop as a true set, because they were made as one.

It also means no compromise. Nothing is built for a warehouse; everything is built for your home.

Coffee tables: One small batch a year

Our Cuban, Aquarius, Rondo and Venus coffee tables are made slowly, in one small production run each year.

When this year's batch sells out, that's it until the next run the following year. We don't rush extra tables through to meet demand, because rushing is exactly what we don't do.

If a coffee table is on your list, now is the time. Once they're gone, you'll be waiting for next year's batch.

Ordering after 16 October

Orders placed after the Christmas cut-off for your piece go into our next production run, which starts in the last week of January 2027, with dispatch from March.

Here's why. Our factory closes for the Christmas break from mid-December until the last week of January. Orders that arrive after the cut-offs are held in a queue and go into production, in the order they were received, as soon as the team is back.

Good things take time

Slow production is a choice. It's why your chairs match, why your stool will outlast trends, and why a TH Brown piece comes with a numbered certificate rather than a barcode.

If you'd like yours by Christmas, check the cut-off for your pieces and order before it. If you're happy to wait, we'll make it with the same care in the new year.

Questions and answers

When do I need to order for delivery before Christmas?

Order seating and the Rondo Pouffe Set by Friday 16 October 2026. Order the Aquarius, Rondo and Venus coffee tables by Friday 13 November 2026, and the Cuban coffee table by Friday 4 December 2026. We guarantee delivery anywhere in Australia before Christmas for orders placed by these dates.

Why does seating have the earliest cut-off?

Every chair, stool and lounge is made, stained and upholstered to order in Adelaide. That takes time, and we won't rush it.

Why do the glass-top coffee tables have a different deadline?

The glass for the Aquarius, Rondo and Venus is cut by glaziers in each state, and they close their order books before Christmas. Friday 13 November is the last date we can guarantee glass for Christmas delivery.

What happens if I order after the cut-off?

Your order joins the queue. Our factory closes from mid-December until the last week of January 2027, when production restarts on all orders in the sequence they were received. Orders are then quality checked, boxed and dispatched from March 2027.

Why is your furniture made to order instead of held in stock?

So, every piece in your set matches. Timber takes stain differently between batches and fabric varies between dye lots. Making your order in one run means one stain and one fabric across every piece.

What if the coffee table I want sells out?

Our coffee tables are made in one small batch each year. Once they sell out, the next run is the following year.

Can I choose my own fabric?

Yes. Every seating piece can be upholstered in a fabric of your choice. Get in touch and we'll talk you through it.

Can you change the height of a stool or chair?

Often, yes. We can adjust heights and other details to suit your space. Tell us what you need, and we'll let you know what's possible.

Do you deliver Australia-wide?

Yes. We deliver to every state and territory.

What comes with a TH Brown piece?

Every piece comes with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Our seating carries a 10-year structural warranty.
