And this June was no different.

Or so I thought.

This week, as I reflected on the month that had been, I realised June had given me something I wasn't expecting.

A gift.

Personally and professionally.

It was conversations.

So many conversations that, looking back, it feels like there were nearly one hundred of them.

Some lasted only a few minutes. Others unfolded over days as timber stains were compared, upholstery samples travelled across the country, glass finishes were debated and measurements checked one last time.

On the surface, we were talking about furniture.

But that wasn't really what the conversations were about.

At first, I thought people were choosing between Clear Ash and Dark Ash.

Then I realised they were doing something far more personal.

They were imagining how they wanted their home to feel.

They weren't simply selecting a fabric or leather. They were picturing family dinners, quiet mornings with a coffee, grandchildren climbing onto bar stools, or friends gathering around a coffee table years from now.

It reminded me of something I've been noticing through our In Residence series.

Every time we're welcomed into someone's home, the conversation quickly moves beyond furniture. We hear stories of the pieces that have travelled with a family for decades, the artwork collected over a lifetime, the renovations that took years to plan, and the memories created in the spaces where life happens.

Then June made me realise something.
